The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is a low-income program, funded through the Department of Energy (Federal) and The Georgia Environment Finance Authority (State). It is the intent of the program to assist in achieving a healthy environment in dwellings of low-income persons, particularly elderly and handicapped, in order to aid those persons less able to afford energy cost and to conserve energy.

The Weatherization program helps families save on their heating and cooling bill by making their homes more energy efficient and by providing education on energy conservation practices. Weatherization audits are completed to determine energy efficient measures are appropriate based on the Georgia Weatherization Assistance Program Priority List.
